Warm-up questions

1 Where were you curled up when you read this book, and was there a moment you had to put it down just to catch your breath or grin at nobody?
2 If you could spend a snowy evening at the rink with any of these characters, just hot drinks and skates, who would you pick and why?

Digging in

1 Rivalry can hide a lot of softer feelings. Have you ever had someone in your life who started as a 'rival' and ended up meaning something to you? How did the book bring that back?
2 Which small moment of care or vulnerability between the rivals made your heart feel warm, even when things were still tense between them?
3 The team is a big part of these characters' world. What did the book stir up for you about finding people who feel like home?
4 Many characters in this series wear armor to protect themselves. When did you feel most tender toward someone who was clearly hiding how they felt?

Going deep

1 Thinking about the whole book, which moment felt like the relationship truly shifted for you emotionally, and what did you feel in that instant (relief, worry, joy)?
2 Rina Kent's romances often mix intensity with tenderness. Did anything in this story make you uncomfortable while you still felt pulled in? How do you hold those two feelings at once as a reader?

On the table

Rink-Side Chili Bar

A slow-cooker pot of chili with toppings like cheese, sour cream, and cornbread. It's the warm comfort food you'd want after a cold night at the arena, and easy to make ahead.

Penalty Box Pretzel Bites with Warm Beer-Cheese Dip

Soft pretzels are an arena snack classic, and a warm cheese dip makes them indulgent and cozy. You can use store-bought pretzel dough to keep the effort low.

Venom Green Mint Brownies

Fudgy brownies with a mint layer tinted a snake-green nod to the Vipers. Rich, gooey, and easy to cut into squares for passing around.

To sip

Home Ice Hot Chocolate Bar No alcohol

Rich hot cocoa with marshmallows, whipped cream, and crushed peppermint, like thawing out after the game. Everyone can sip it.

Viper's Bite Spiked Cider

Warm spiced apple cider with a splash of cinnamon whiskey for a gentle 'bite' that fits the venomous series name.

Overtime Irish Coffee

Coffee with Irish cream and whipped cream, made for lingering over the last chapters of conversation when the night goes into overtime.

Soft, moody, and yearning, like watching snow fall outside the arena after the crowd has gone home
