What to read for each one
1. A mystery
Long nights, a fireplace, and someone who isn't telling the truth.
2. A historical novel
Go somewhere, and somewhen, else entirely.
3. A cozy read
Blanket, tea, and a story that feels like a hug.
4. A bestseller
Straight off this week's New York Times list.
5. A book outside your comfort zone
Never read sci-fi? A memoir? Nonfiction? This is the month.
Make one prompt the club book
Choose one of the five for your November meeting and we'll plan the night around it: discussion questions, food and drink pairings, a playlist and a host guide.

What is the November reading challenge?
Five books in one month, one for each prompt: a mystery, a historical novel, a cozy read, a bestseller, and a book outside your comfort zone. Print the checklist, fill in your titles, and tick them off as you go.
Do I have to read all five books?
No. It's a nudge, not a test. Plenty of readers finish three; the comfort-zone pick is the one people remember most.
Can my book club do the challenge together?
Yes. Pick one prompt as the club book for your November meeting, and let everyone choose the other four on their own. Bring the checklists to compare at the next meeting.
Can one book count for two prompts?
Your rules. A historical mystery can fill either slot, but the challenge is more fun when each pick is a different book.
